Social Butterfly Detroit
Purpose
Mission: To empower and inspire Breast Cancer Warriors and Survivors through resources and assistance.
Vision: Provide assistance to help improve the lives of young professionals who are currently experiencing and survived breast cancer between the ages of 18 years of age up to 50 years of age.
What we've accomplished in 2022- 2023
We have achieved significant milestones and made a positive impact on the community, including:
Successfully raised substantial funds for the American Cancer Society through the Making Strides initiative, contributing to the ongoing battle against cancer and supporting vital research and patient services.
Successfully raised funds for Karmanos C.A.P.A.B.L.E. Program.
Donated Digital devices and assisted with bridging the digital divide amongst cancer survivors and fighters, empowering them with the tools needed for communication, education, and staying connected during their journey.
Provided new clothing for families, offering both practical support and a sense of comfort and dignity during challenging times.
Offered mentorship and resource services to young ladies undergoing breast cancer treatment, guiding them through the complexities of their journey, and helping them build the resilience and skills needed to thrive.
Successfully raised funds for the Making Strides Detroit Walk two years in a row, demonstrating a consistent commitment to the cause and helping make strides toward a future free from the burdens of breast cancer.
Organized Annual Awareness Campaigns: Orchestrated and led annual breast cancer awareness campaigns, spreading critical information, fostering early detection, and inspiring community engagement.
Inspired Community Involvement: Motivated the community to actively participate in breast cancer awareness events, creating a culture of compassion, empathy, and proactive health awareness.
